Somerton School District No. 11 benefited with a 75,000 dollars donation from Regional Center for Border Health, Inc.

The funds will be used by the Somerton School District No. 11 to improve an area used as a playground located at Tierra Del Sol Elementary School

Yuma, Arizona .– Somerton School District No. 11 will be able to provide its students a safer environment to play and develop more socialization skills thanks to the recent donation given to them by the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. (RCBH).

A check of 75,000 dollars was presented on behalf of the Board of Directors to Ms. Lorena Zendejas, Somerton School District No. 11 School Board Secretary, during the recent regular meeting of the non-profit organization’s Board of Directors. 

The funds will be used by the Somerton School District No. 11 to improve an area used as a playground located at Tierra Del Sol Elementary School.

According to Ms. Zendejas, there is a need for lights in order for the students to have a better view during winter evening hours; and with the donation they will play safely.

“We are glad to be able to do this contribution to support our students and their development in a safer place; we thank the School District for giving us the opportunity to help,” said Amanda Aguirre, President and CEO of the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc.

Tierra Del Sol Elementary School teaches Pre-K to Fifth Grade students and is located at 1002 South Somerton Avenue, in Somerton, AZ.
