RCBH keeps supporting Firefighters to be prepared to save lives

The funds will make possible for the organization to provide advanced airway training and techniques to its regional Emergency Medical Technicians.

Yuma, Arizona. – The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. /Western Arizona Health Education Centers (RCBH/WAHEC) today presented a check donation to the Yuma County Fire Officer Association Training Committee (YCFOA TC) on the amount of 1,320 dollars.

The check was presented by Ms. Amanda Aguirre, President and CEO of the RCBH, to Chief of Battalion of the City of Yuma Fire Department Michael C. Walton and Paramedic and Firefighter Cathy Padilla.

According to Mr. Walton, the funds will make possible for the organization to provide advanced airway training and techniques to its regional Emergency Medical Technicians.

“This training will provide a hands-on opportunity for us to strengthen the important skills of dealing with a significant air way problem. This knowledge could ultimately be the difference between life and death for a patient we encounter,” added Mr. Walton.

“The RCBH is always willing to support local emergency responder’s agencies to make sure they have enough resources in order to keep our families safe”, Ms. Aguirre stated during the presentation.

The airway lab will be led by Lynn Browne-Wagner, RN, MSN and supported by City of Yuma Fire Department medical director Dr. Matthew Dickson.

The course will be deliberated at the Yuma Regional Medical Center Corporate Center in Yuma Saturday April 25th, and Sunday April 26th, 2015, said Mr. Walton.

The YCFOA is accredited by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) which is an Internationally Accredited Agency.
