RCBH is honored to pay tribute to Veterans

With the help of the Arizona Department of Veterans Services more than 90 veterans that could live in this area have been identified

Somerton, Arizona. – In order to honor and recognize residents of South Yuma County who have served the country during the tough times of war, The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. (RCBH) is asking the public to help locating those brave man and women who dedicated their lives while enlisted with the Military.

To remember every service member of South Yuma County who has sacrificed to protect the American way of life, our liberties and the pursuit of happiness, the RCBH will build a Veterans’ Memorial Park and will pay tribute placing individual plaques memorializing their service.

The non-profit organization is committed to serving those men and women of South Yuma County who have ever worn our nation’s uniform, and anticipates this announcement will prompt proud veterans and family members and their friends to make contact and share their story.

Since October 2014 the RCBH is working with the Arizona Department of Veterans Services, and that collaboration has been instrumental for the RCBH project since more than 90 veterans that could live in this area have been identified.

According to Amanda Aguirre, President and CEO of the RCBH, the Veterans’ Memorial Park would be a place where the names and stories of those veterans can be known and receive the knowledge and respect they deserve.

Some residents could have a neighbor for a long time and maybe won’t ever know they served the country, added Ms. Aguirre, which is why the agency is reaching out to the community in Yuma County.

The Veterans’ Memorial Park will also be a place for kids and families to enjoy their time in a healthy environment, and also they will have an opportunity to celebrate Patriotic Holidays and keep learning their history through the Veterans.

Any information regarding names and stories of veterans is welcome to be shared by contacting Mariajose Almazan, Executive Assistant to the President and CEO of the RCBH at (928) 627-9222 or via e-mail at mrincon@rcfbh.org.
