RCBH celebrates Cancer Survivors with 14th Annual Spring Fashion Show

The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. decreases mortality through arranging a day when these Yuma County survivors are coiffed and gowned as royalty with the help of Dillard’s, said Ms. Amanda Aguirre, President & CEO of RCBH.

Yuma, Arizona. –It’s the time of the year to celebrate the life of Cancer Survivors and support them as the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. (RCBH) and Dillard’s Department Store invite the community to join the 14th Annual Spring Fashion Show.

Presented by the Yuma County Breast & Cervical Cancer Coalition (YCBCCC) this year the Spring Fashion Show will have a little twist, since not only ladies will participate as models, but also their family members who will walk on the runaway along with them to show their support.

Summertime fashions will be provided by Dillard’s Department Store on the event that will take place Sunday, April 19th from 2:00 -4:00 P.M. at the Yuma Civic Center, located at 1440 Desert Hills Drive, in Yuma.

According to Ms. Amanda Aguirre, President and CEO of the RCBH, every year since 2000 the agency provides this event for cancer survivors to be their moment to glow and shine, as the funds raised for tickets sales are channelized to assist them with life expenses.

“Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. decreases mortality through arranging a day when these Yuma County survivors are coiffed and gowned as royalty with the help of Dillard’s”, said Ms. Aguirre.

The RCBH and its Yuma County Breast & Cervical Cancer Coalition Foundation decrease the likelihood of mortality for cancer survivors in Yuma County, by raising money through the fashion show; through event sponsorships and ticket sales.

Aguirre added that “We all know that lowering survivors’ stress levels is one of the strongest strategies to regaining good health.”

To assist in that road to recovery and health, the YCBCCC Uncovered Services fund pays for many different needs; those could include medical procedures, exams, or blood tests, pre-operational procedures that are required prior to a program-paid cancer biopsy yet unaffordable to the patient. The fund has paid for hotels in Tucson or Phoenix, extra help with house rent or utilities, or gas cards to enable a small amount of ease in the cost of transportation to chemotherapy or radiation appointments.

In any, or all of these situations, the Coalition Uncovered Services fund eases the burden on Yuma County cancer survivors and our Yuma County community donors fill a great need in the survivor’s lives.
