According to Maggie Swift Cady, MSW, LCSW, "The intent of this annual event is to strengthen the networking and growth opportunities for Yuma area Professional Social Workers. The community interest and support for this has grown immensely.”

Yuma, Arizona.- The contributions of Yuma Social Workers will be appreciated in March during the 4th Annual Yuma Social Work Month Celebration, organized by event creator Maggie Swift Cady, MSW, LCSW, Board Member of Arizona Chapter for the National Association of Social Workers.

Presented this year by the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. and Western Area Health Education Council, the 4th Annual Yuma Social Work Month Celebration will be held on Tuesday, March 15th, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon at the Yuma County Main Library, located at 2951 South 21st Drive, in Yuma, AZ.

According to Maggie Swift Cady, MSW, LCSW, "The intent of this annual event is to strengthen the networking and growth opportunities for Yuma area Professional Social Workers. The community interest and support for this has grown immensely.”

With this year’s theme Social Work, Forging Solutions out of Challenges, the Forum will feature Keynote Speaker Alberta Wallace, MSW, NAU Yuma Branch Campus Social Work adjunct faculty member.

Attendees will have a free one-hour CEU Presentation by Dr. Mark Shen, Director of Clinical Education with the Aurora Behavioral Health System, Arizona’s largest free-standing psychiatric hospital system.

“Global changes in healthcare, access to community resources, and the growing need for clinical mental health services have created a higher demand for professional social workers.  It can be challenging for those of us who live here to travel for CEU and networking opportunities. So, this event provides a viable opportunity for area social workers to support and enrich each other”, said Ms. Swift Cady.

Registration prior to the event is needed by contacting Ms. Elizabeth Arredondo, RCBH/WAHEC Program Coordinator at earredondo@rcfbh.org

The Arizona Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers is the largest professional association of social workers in Arizona with members from all over the state. The Chapter is dedicated to promoting the quality and effectiveness of social work practice in a state rich with diversity.
