RCBH and Subsidiaries SLWIC Rural health clinic and Main Street Café, chosen as the Best in South Yuma County

This is the second year in a row the RCBH and the Somerton Main Street Café win this people’s choice awards

Yuma, Arizona. – The mission of improve the quality of life of residents in the border community where Somerton and San Luis are included were the key for the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc., to won the 1st Place in South County Best for 2014.

According to a survey the local newspaper Bajo El Sol does every year to recognize business and organizations, the non-profit organization founded 28 years ago by former State of Arizona Senator Ms. Amanda Aguirre won the 1st place for Best Social Service Agency/Charitable Organization.

The results of the South County Best for 2014 where released today to the winners of each category by the newspaper representatives, where another RCBH subsidiaries also were some of the people’s choices.

According to the newspaper, the RCBH also have placed in 3rd for Best Customer Service.

The Somerton Main Street Café which is the RCBH restaurant that offers nutritious food made with fresh local produce, and also promotes education in food preparation, also won the 1st Place for Best Restaurant in South County.

The Somerton Main Street Café is located just a few steps from the RCBH Headquarters in Somerton, at 214 East Main Street.

In another category, the San Luis Walk-In Clinic, Inc., located at 1896 East Babbitt Lane, in San Luis, also won the 1st Place for Best Medical Services.

“I am glad to receive this important news today because is a reminder that our staff at the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. is doing their job professionally and always thinking on the community wellbeing”, said Amanda Aguirre, President and CEO of the RCBH.

The agency subsidies the San Luis Walk-In Clinics in Somerton and San Luis, the Somerton Main Street Cafe, and the College of Health Careers, providing more than 200 jobs to local families and impacting the economy at all the levels.
