Although Ruo didn’t place in the top 10 winners, this exciting experience made her reaffirm education is the key for any person to success, as she said; “it was an eye-opener to the vast world of healthcare. I was able to test my leadership skills through my competition. It opened my eyes seeing how big of a network HOSA really is, with so many members from so many different places, connected through one passion.”

Ruo Qiu, who has been accepted at Occidental College and started this fall, added; “as a HOSA student, I can access a variety of resources to learn more about healthcare, whether it's in regards to job opportunities, volunteer opportunities, or simply issues in healthcare. HOSA is a nation-wide organization, and it allows connections to be made throughout the state.”
