Amanda Aguirre, M.A., R.D.
CEO / President

Since 1991 Amanda Aguirre, M.A., R.D. has been the CEO/President of the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. a non-profit organization. She also serves as CEO/President for the San Luis Walk-In Clinic, Inc. a subsidiary non-profit Federal Rural Health Clinic of the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. since 2004. Amanda has been involved for more than 25 years in public health education and administration with a strong emphasis in U.S.-Mexico border health issues.

Ms. Aguirre holds a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of Sonora in Hermosillo, Sonora. In 1981 received her Master Degree from the California State University in Los Angeles, California in Nutrition, with focus on feeding problems of children with developmental disabilities. Most recently, Ms. Aguirre is the co-founder of the “Nuestros Niños” Foundation, a private foundation dedicated to improve the quality of life and meet the needs of children and their families along the U.S.-Mexico border.

On November 7, 2006, Ms. Aguirre was elected to the Arizona State Senate for District #24, 48th Arizona State Legislature.

On November 2 nd , 2004 Ms. Amanda Aguirre became elected to the Arizona House of Representatives for District #24, 47 th Arizona State Legislature. Ms. Aguirre became the first Hispanic and female representing District #24 (Yuma and La Paz Counties) in the State House of Representatives on February 2003, when Yuma County Board of Supervisors appointed her to the 46 th Arizona State Legislature.
