2015 Pharm Camp

According to Amanda Aguirre, President and CEO of the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc., the Pharmacy Camp is a community outreach program conducted by the University Of Arizona College Of Pharmacy every summer since 1997

This year a total of 14 students applied for the program, and 7 are from the Yuma County WAHEC Area, which includes the following students:

  • Martin Caudillo, from Cibola High School;
  • Alan Hurtado, Angel Navarro Carrillo, and Dianara Ramirez, from Kofa High School;
  • Tomas Camilo Ortiz, and Gerardo Abraham Sanchez, from San Luis High School;
  • Patricia Monique Sanchez, from Gila Ridge High School.

Lake Havasu HOSA Chapter students who participated recently on the 2016 Spring Leadership Conference celebrated in Tucson

Faith Mendoza won a Bronze medal during the 2016 Spring Leadership Conference recently celebrated in Tucson, and that gave her the pass to compete in the national competition which will take place in Nashville, Tennessee, from June 22nd to 25th, 2016

The Healthy Sister Cities Border Initiative will consist in an awareness campaign in both San Luis Rio Colorado and San Luis, Arizona which will include banners in streets of both cities. Several food businesses from both sides of the border participating in the campaign will support the campaign providing healthy choices
