The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc./San Luis Walk-In Clinic, Inc. will also celebrate the Rural Health Day and Marketplace Enrollment on Thursday November 19^th, 2015 at its two locations in San Luis, and Somerton

A few days after the start of this year’s Enrollment Period for the Health Insurance Marketplace which started on Sunday November 1^st, 2015, Melissa Stafford Jones, the Regional Director for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has confidence that the residents of the Yuma Area will respond as positively as they did during last year’s enrollment period.

“We know that 4,403 people in Yuma chose plans or were automatically re-enrolled through the Health Insurance Marketplace, the online exchange for comprehensive, affordable health coverage last year, but we still have a long way to go,” said Ms. Stafford Jones.

These results came along with the help of the members of the Cover Arizona Western Coalition, with more than 900 members statewide, committed to increasing health coverage. According to Co-Chair Amanda Aguirre, Cover Arizona is focused on building awareness of opportunities available through the Health Insurance Marketplace and AHCCCS, Arizona’s Medicaid. “Members are actively engaged in local outreach activities, and are committed to ensuring that trained enrollment assisters are available for consumers seeking coverage,” Ms. Aguirre added.

Ms. Aguirre, also the President and CEO of the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc., announced that the non-profit organization based in Yuma County along with Sunset Community Health Center will join forces and will offer several opportunities for the public through Enrollment Fairs at several locations enlisted as follows.

The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc./San Luis Walk-In Clinic, Inc. will also celebrate the Rural Health Day and Marketplace Enrollment on Thursday November 19^th, 2015 at its two locations during the enlisted hours.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services wants to remind that the deadline to enroll in 2016 coverage is January 31, 2016. If a consumer doesn’t enroll by then, the only way they can get 2016 health insurance is if they qualify for a 2016 Special Enrollment Period. They may also be subject to a financial penalty.

If the public misses any of the Enrollment Fairs, the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. will have Family Care Coordinators available from Monday to Friday during regular hours.
