Students who illustrated the 2018 Binational Clean Air Calendar recognized
Students were recognized by the COBINAS representatives

Ms. Aguirre and Dr. Ramirez headed the ceremony during the 2018 Quarterly Meeting of COBINAS

Yuma, Arizona.- The talent of 13 students and the Athlete of the Year who helped creating awareness of the importance of keeping our environment clean were recognized for their participation at the 2018 Binational Clean Air Calendar.

A ceremony was held in January, 31st, 2018 in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico, where former Arizona State Senator and current President and CEO of the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. Amanda Aguirre and Dr. Marco Antonio Ramirez Wakamatzu, Director of Jurisdiccion Sanitaria VI, the highest Health authority in San Luis Rio Colorado, depending on the Health Secretariat of Sonora, presented the awards to the students.

With the help of Dr. Leticia Sanchez, the new Director of Centro de Salud Urbano and Co-President of Binational Health and Environment Council, along with Ms. Martha Roman, with Envorinment and Sustainability Comission of Sonora, both Ms. Aguirre and Dr. Ramirez recognized the following students:

Lourdes Pina Sainz, Emmanuel Valencia Pérez, Ángel Jesús Hernández Rojas y Kitzia Michelle Luna Jiménez, from Vicente Guerrero Elementary, also Mauricio Melendrez Pérez, from Colegio San Luis; Alma Fernanda Galindo Cruz, from Conalep, and Dafne Zamora Frausto, from Instituto Kino Preparatoria, all of them from San Luis Rio Colorado.

From Yuma COBINAS representatives recognized Marilyn García, from Kofa High School; Kianna Alcalá, from Antelope Union High School; Kenia García, Neylan Macías, and Giselle Rodríguez from Arizona Desert Elementary, and Montserrat Rentería Ruvalcaba, from Centennial Middle School.

Athlete of the Year is amateur boxer from Phoenix, Arizona, who resides in San Luis, Arizona, Joshua Issac Salguero.

Calendars are distribuited for free at schools and San Luis Walk-In Clinic, Inc., facilities.
