RCBH sponsors “Bombero Project” training for 47 San Luis Rio Colorado volunteer firefighters
  • The “Bombero Project” was created in 2010 to provide US based training to the members of our sister city of San Luis Rio Colorado, said Assistant Fire Chief Dustin Fields, with City of Yuma Fire Department.

Yuma, Arizona. – Committed to improve the life of residents along the US-Mexico border by increasing accessibility to quality training and affordable healthcare, the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. (RCBH) will sponsor an emergency rescue training to be provided to a total of 47 San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora Mexico’s volunteer firefighters in collaboration with the City if Yuma Fire Department, on Saturday, December 17th, 2016, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The one-day event will take place at the City of Yuma Public Safety Training Facility located at 3575 South Avenue 4E, in Yuma, Arizona.

According to Ms. Amanda Aguirre, President and CEO of RCBH, the training is a part of the “Bombero Project”, which is an effort to help better prepare firefighters for emergency situations.

“Bomberos Rurales and the “Bomberos Voluntarios” volunteer firefighters will take part of the training.

The “Bombero Project” was created in 2010 to provide US based training to the members of our sister city of San Luis Rio Colorado, added Assistant Fire Chief Dustin Fields, with City of Yuma Fire Department (YFD).

The program includes topics related to Extrication Training, such as Introduction and Waivers of Release, Airbags, Rollover Protection Systems, Seats and Seat Belts, Patient Access/Treatment, Vehicle Stabilization, Rescue Jack, YFD Demonstration, Hands-On Activities, among others.

The media is more than welcome to attend and talk with both YFD and Mexico’s Firefighters.
