RCBH/San Luis Walk-In Clinic, Inc. to offer Behavioral Health Services to help residents improve their lives

The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. /San Luis Walk-In Clinic, Inc. Behavioral Health Services will be located at 115 Columbia Avenue, in Somerton, Arizona

Yuma, Arizona –  The Regional Center for Border Health, Inc./San Luis Walk-In Clinic, Inc. continues its commitment in improving the quality of life of the residents in the area.

Effective August 7th, 2015, the non-profit organization rural health clinic San Luis Walk-In Clinic, Inc. was approved by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) Behavioral Health Services Division to provide a wide range of Behavioral Health Primary Care Integrated Services, announced Ms. Amanda Aguirre, President and CEO of the RCBH/SLWIC.

“We are very pleased to be able to continue providing quality services to the families and their children of this rural area and now with the Behavioral Health Services we are taking another step to fulfill their needs”, added Ms. Aguirre.

The Behavioral Health Services are provided by Mr. Michael Kennedy, Licensed Social Worker, with more than 30 years of experience in the field. Mr. Kennedy got his Social Worker Bachelor’s degree in 1979 and his Social Worker Master’s degree in 1981 from the University of Kansas.

The Behavioral Health Services include:

  • Individual or Group Counseling;

Assessments and/or Education on:

  • Driving Under Influence (DUI),
  • Domestic Violence,
  • Substance Abuse,

Among others.

According to Mr. Kennedy people nowadays suffer from Depression, Stress, or other kinds of behavioral situations, and they don’t know how to deal with those problems. 

“A significant treatment and counseling provided by us will not only help people to feel better, but to improve relationships with their loved ones and peers; people will feel better and be more productive at their jobs, and in cases like substance abuse with our help they will be able to reconnect with society again,” said Mr. Kennedy.
