The City of Yuma would like to express its sincere thanks to the Regional Center for Border Health, Inc., for a $10,000 donation they made toward the reconstruction of the Stewart Vincent Wolfe Creative Playground.
The City of Yuma, which manages the Yuma West Wetlands Park, is working in collaboration with community members and organizations to plan a future reconstruction of the park. The Stewart Vincent Wolfe Creative Playground, located in the heart of the West Wetlands Park, burned on the evening of Dec. 28, 2014.
In the aftermath of the fire, widespread community support has led to the re-establishment of a Stewart Vincent Wolfe Creative Playground fund though the Foothills Bank in order to allow community members to securely make a tax-deductible donation.
A community outreach forum will be held to discuss the future reconstruction of the playground at 6 p.m. on Jan. 13, in the Council Chambers inside City Hall, One City Plaza.
If you would like to participate by making a monetary donation, both cash and checks are accepted in-person. Checks are to be made out to the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area Corporation. Once an online option for payment becomes available, the City will release details on how to do so.
Donations are being accepted at the following locations:
- City of Yuma customer service counters, including the Parks and Recreation counter and the Water Services counter
- Yuma Art Center
- Yuma Civic Center
- Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area Corp. office
- The Foothills Bank
